Greater Lowell Health Alliance

About Us

History

The Greater Lowell Health Alliance of the Community Health Network Area 10 is comprised of healthcare providers, business leaders, educators, civic and community leaders with a common goal to help the Greater Lowell community identify and address its health and wellness priorities. The Greater Lowell Health Alliance was founded in 2006 and merged in 2008 with the CHNA 10.

A Community Health Network Area (CHNA) is a coalition that is comprised of public, non-profit and private sectors working together to build healthier communities through community-based prevention planning and health promotion. Created in 1992 by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the CHNA initiative involves 351 cities and towns in 27 different networks throughout Massachusetts.

Bringing together the Greater Lowell Health Alliance and CHNA has strengthened our ability to work with others to enrich the Greater Lowell community; network and share ideas with people with similar interest in building a healthier Greater Lowell community; gain more knowledge about health-related issues and topics; and increase cultural competency of the services provided in the Greater Lowell community.

Mission

Our mission is to identify and address healthcare issues facing the Greater Lowell community. By raising awareness and providing resources for our communities, schools, civic and business leaders, and healthcare providers, we empower them to make decisions and take actions that will lead to an improvement in the overall health of our communities.
