Seminario SIDS Reduciendo el riesgo del Síndrome de Muerte Repentina Infantí

Este seminario va a definir el síndrome de muerte repentina infantíl, discutir factores de riesgo e identificar posiciones y ambientes seguros para dormir.
• Esta clase está diseñada para proveedores de cuidados de niños, pero tambien está abierta a expectadores y nuevos padres.
• Proveedores de cuidado de niños recibirán un certificado al completar este curso.
• La presentación y circulares han sido desarrolladas por el Departamento de Temprana Educación y Cuidado.

Acerca de la Presentadora: Amy McCabe, RN, BSN, es la educadora pediatrica y de recien nacidos del Hospital General de Lowell. Ella es una educadora certificada en nacimiento de niños y ha sido una enfermera en el area Materna de la salud de niños por casi 20 años con un enfoque en medicina para recien nacidos.

Part two of this series focuses on healthy eating after pregnancy and will provide you with lifestyle tips and strategies, including: • Healthy eating after pregnancy and for breastfeeding • Losing baby weight • Reducing your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes if you have had gestational diabetes

Part 1: Physical Activity

Part one of this series focuses on safe physical activity after giving birth and is instructed by the staff at SLS Fitness, a local fitness center. This informative and interactive class will discuss the body’s changes after birth by focusing on:
• Pelvic floor changes
• Safely strengthening the core muscles
• Common exercises to avoid after giving birth
• Proper posture techniques
• Instruction of tummy safe exercises that can be continued at home

The Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program is a foster care program for underage refugees and migrants that come to the USA by themselves without a parent or guardian to care for them. There are over 21.3 million refugees around the world. More than 50% of these are children.

Refugees minors are underage children whose lives have been torn apart when violence arrives on their doorstep or when they—or their families—are persecuted for their religious or political beliefs. Refugee minors are driven from their homes and communities by factors outside their control. It happens fast. Quite literally, refugees are people running for their lives. Voiceless and without an advocate, most often grabbing only the things they can carry, refugee minors are the world’s most vulnerable.

Since 1982, the Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program has been working to alleviate the suffering of refugees and migrant minors from all around the world. Our passion lies in empowering people of all backgrounds to rise together and reach beyond life’s challenges.

The Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program will host a screening of the documentary film “Refugee: The Eritrean Exodus.” The event is free and open to the public.
