CMAA Fashion Show 2016
The Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, is a nonprofit in the heart of Cambodian Town Lowell Ma. CMAA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for Cambodian Americans and other minorities and economically disadvantaged persons in Lowell through educational, cultural, economic and social programs. Director of The Disparities Solution Center of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Dr. Betancourt has spent many years working to improve quality of care, address racial and ethnic disparities, and achieve equity.
In response to findings presented in our recent
Cancer Disparities Needs Assessment for increased cultural awareness/sensitivity/ competency and improved health equity, Dr. Betancourt will be presenting on how MGH has remained successful in these areas.
Objectives of his presentation include:
• An overview of healthcare transformation and link to disparities and equity
• Highlighting root causes for disparities, drivers for addressing them, and their relationship to quality
Sharing lessons learned from MGH and a national network of hospitals across the country who are focused on improving quality and achieving equity.

“You” Focused Wellness – Interactive Networking Luncheon
The Greater Lowell Health Alliance invites you to participate in our interactive networking luncheon focused on the health and wellbeing of health professionals and those who care for others called “You” Focused Wellness” on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus, Clark Auditorium from 11:00am-2:00pm.By promoting the personal health among these individuals, we believe they will be able to best care for others.
We have invited licensed specialists and certified professionals from the Greater Lowell Area who have donated their time and will be offering complimentary modalities ranging from massages, group hypnosis, tapping therapy, reiki demonstrations, and informational resources on stress management, healthy eating, and exercise. Special guest,David Crocker, of Cultivating Qi will be presenting on the benefits of alternative means to wellness and stress management, and hosting a live qigong demonstration. We encourage you to arrive as early as possible if you are interested in group hypnosis and tapping therapy as these sessions require early sign-up.
