Opioids and the Workplace, Prevention & Response: Community Stakeholders Meeting
Opioids and the Workplace, Prevention & Response: Community Stakeholders Meeting
As part of a nationwide pilot training program that addresses opioids and the workplace; the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Worker Training Program and The New England Consortium, based at UMass Lowell, will be holding a community stakeholders meeting.
The community stakeholders meeting is an outreach effort in order to continue the discussion with community partners on the impact of the opioid crisis on workers, the workplace, and the community.
The goal of the meeting is to discuss the relationship between workplace injuries and illness, working conditions, and opioid use disorder. The hope is to bring an additional perspective and broaden awareness of the workplace connection and actions that need to be taken in the workplace as part of the solution.
We invite the feedback of community experts from; law enforcement, emergency responders, unions, employers, community / political leaders and local care providers in this workplace crisis.
By coming together to discuss how to destigmatize the pathway to opioid abuse assistance and the various methods of providing support, we can be better prepared to meet the needs of current or future employees.
