In culmination of Teen BLOCK’s 30th celebration, Teen BLOCK is hosting a RevoYOUTHtion on Saturday February 2nd, 2019 at Lowell CHC to bring 150 youth from 7th – 12th grade together to discuss what they would want to focus on/what us adults should be helping them with in regards to making change/improvements to our community.

During the breakout sessions which will be co-facilitated by youth workers/volunteers from Lowell, youth will engage in discussion on the following topics:
- How do we build an inclusive community to address issues of racism and stereotypes?
Areas of concern: Cultural competency in teachers and school officials, toxic school environment, and unequal punishment based on race in schools and juvenile justice system.
- How do work to promote peace in our community to address issues of violence?
Areas of concern: gang violence, fights in school and around town and bullying.
- How can we address the mental health needs in our community
Areas of concern: suicide, access to services, and coping with trauma of violence.
- How do rally to promote positive decision making as it relates to substance abuse?
Areas of concern: alcohol, drugs, opioid use and Negative peer pressure.
- How do increase access to future opportunities available to you?
Areas of concern: Negative stigma about wanting to do better, lack of knowledge for future pathways, push youth to strive for brighter futures and more positive social activities.
