Immigrants and refugees are growing populations in Massachusetts that can be at high risk for developing a variety of mental health problems. It is important to provide these unique populations with the mental health services to meet their needs. This training will focus on skills and strategies that can enhance clinical services for refugee and immigrant children and their families. The importance of cultural competence and cultural humility and how cultural brokers can help overcome cultural and linguistic barriers will be discussed.
